In 2019, Bonnie Weiss, led by the Holy Spirit and her passion for helping others succeed in their life and career, launched the Center for Christian Coaching, a Life Coach Training School centered on the Teachings of Jesus and Principles of God’s Word.

Gary Collins, a pioneer in Christian counseling, defined Christian Coaching as the “art and practice of working with a person or group in the process of moving from where they are to where God wants them to be.”

Accreditation means that our program’s curriculum has undergone rigorous external inspection and evaluation by leading organizations in the coaching industry.  Our training programs meet the highest standards of ethics, competency, and professionalism. Certification is awarded by a training organization upon completion of a coaching program, declaring that you’ve met the program’s specific requirements to work as a coach.  Credentialing is managed by accrediting organizations like the ICF or CCNI, recognizing a coach’s competency and adherence to their specific standards.

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to professional coaching. Founded in 1995, it serves as an accrediting and credentialing body for coaching training programs and coaches, ensuring high standards in the coaching profession. ICF is the world’s largest coaching association, and it aims to advance the coaching profession by providing credentialing for trained coaches and building a global network of coaching professionals. Christian Coaches Network International (CCNI), a non-profit organization, has been the leading credentialing body in the field of Christian coaching since 1998, helping to ensure professional competence and a common standard of excellence and ethics in Christian practice.  Click here for information about the CCNI credential.

After successfully completing our ICF Level 1 Certificate, you are eligible to pursue your ICF, CCNI, or both credentials by completing their requirements and application process. There is a wide variety of ways to utilize the skills and tools gained from our certification training program. With our Christian Life Coaching Certificate, you will be equipped to communicate more effectively in your personal life and business, start your own coaching practice, incorporate coaching into your current role in the marketplace, or integrate coaching into ministry.

Christian Coaching and counseling utilize similar skills but serve different purposes.  Licensed counselors are trained to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions and often help individuals process past wounds, trauma, or emotional challenges. Christian Coaching is not clinical care.  It is future-focused and helps clients gain clarity, apply biblical wisdom, and take purposeful action in areas such as personal growth, relationships, leadership, and calling.

Center for Christian Coaching is not affiliated with one specific denomination.  As a Christian school, we believe that 1) Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life.” Jesus alone offers eternal salvation and reconciliation to God. 2) That the Bible is the authoritative, inerrant, and sufficient Word of God, and 3) that the real Teacher in our lives is the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit works within us, developing Christ-like character. Our classes are typically capped at 10-12 students.  Students need access to a computer with a camera and microphone and will attend weekly live classes via Zoom, enabling interactive learning and meaningful class discussion. All course materials are online and can be accessed through the private Student Learning Center.  Weekly reading and practice homework will be assigned.
