“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
Thomas Edison, one of our greatest inventors, experienced lots of failures as he sought to create a working light bulb. Even failure after failure, he continued to persist.
But along the way, he had several reasons to give up on his dream.
As a boy, he only attended school for a few months before being labeled a lazy, mentally challenged student. In truth, he was dyslexic and ended up being educated by his mother at home. Later, as a young man, Thomas lost most of his hearing.
He had plenty of reasons to give up on his calling. As you can see from his famous quote, his determination and his commitment to make the light bulb viable for people everywhere kept him from giving up.
Thank goodness for that determination! Where would we be without Thomas Edison?
What about you? You’ve been dreaming about becoming a Christian Life Coach, in fact, you feel called to do so. But you’ve encountered challenges and reasons to not move forward.
Here are some typical challenges:
I can’t afford the training
Make a plan:
Create a savings account specifically for Christian Life Coach Training.
Then, look at your spending and see if there are ways to reduce those “extras” and begin to save money. Consider those trips to Starbucks, upgrading to the newest iPhone, attending that concert, instead of buying the new car, what about buying a used car and reducing your monthly payment, etc.
What about selling some no-longer-used items on EBay or Poshmark?
Or when you’re tempted to splurge on a shopping spree, ask yourself is a temporary sacrifice worth it to you to create the ability to become a certified Christian Life Coach?
My schedule is too full to study and work through the training program
Try this exercise:
Write down the various ways you spend your free time after work and on weekends.
How many hours per day/evening do you spend with those activities? For example, how many hours of TV do you watch every evening? Add it up for the week. How many hours do you spend on social media in the evening? How much time do you spend texting friends? After listing the various activities, look and see how you could trim 2-3 hours per week so that you could study and practice coaching skills. Isn’t walking in God’s purpose worth 2-3 hours per week of your time?

What if I’m not good at coaching?
If you are like most people who feel called to Christian Coaching you already have been gifted with being an encourager, providing support to people, being compassionate, etc.
Now what you need are the skills to take those gifts and use them as a Christian Life Coach.
Training programs like ours, equip you with those skills.
You will learn how to take a prospective client all the way from the beginning of the coaching relationship to helping them discover God’s vision for them and how to achieve that. Along the way, you will help them when they encounter various barriers or challenges. It could be a limiting mindset they’ve been plagued with for 20 years, or a fear of rejection that they’ve been challenged with for the last 30 years.
Christian Coaching can be a life-changing experience for clients as they bring Christ into all areas of their life.
Where would those people be without you?
Are you going to allow your challenges to stop you from stepping into God’s calling on your life? Or are you going to take a cue from Thomas Edison and stay determined to living out God’s vision for you? Contact us today to find out more.
